Kalkulilo (Calculator) App Reviews

iPhone5 version has ADs!

I used to love this calc. The addition of ads totally ruined it for me.

ads?!

was my calc app, but new version added ads without being honest about this in change log. I do not like when app authors are deceptive, so Ill move to another app, even if I have to pay. I just cant support deceptive authors (I wonder what else wasnt mentioned?).

Deceptive

Should have mentioned that ads were being added to the upgrade, and the ad-free version price. I would have gladly upgraded, and paid for the ad-free version. But, I am deleting the App, because I feel that was deceptive.

hate the ad

well the app is free. but still the ad is ruining the experience.

Thanks for the heads-up! (V3.0)

This has been my calc app since I got my iPhone 3GS three years ago. I too am disappointed the author did not mention ads in the change list. Guess I will stick with the old version. Cheers!

One word... CRAP

Dont you love it when someone is like a snake oil salesman and bait and switches you! Keep the bad reviews coming and people will skip this pathetic app!

Deceptive

Why did the release notes not include the main new feature of the latest version: Ads? Because they knew no one would have taken the update. Now I cant revert to the old version. But you know what I *can* do? Yep. Zap.

I will be looking for a new calculator

The previous version of the calculator was all that I needed as an engineer/programmer. It had all of the functionality that was needed and Iwas content with it not being updated any more. That said the new version adds iAds and changes the color scheme. I understand the desire to get paid for your work as you should be. Unfortunately the implemetation of it in this program is poor. Evening moving the ads to the bottom of the screen would help. I liked the amount of space afforded to the display (the non-keypad part of the calculator) in previous versions. It seems that this is where all of the space was taken from for the ad. A splash screen with an ad would be better than and iAd banner. Now the other problem is the color scheme. It looks like an engineer or programmer came up with it. It may be functional but it is not appealing. The old color scheme was much better.I know I can change the colors for my buttons, but it would be better if the original scheme was default. As a side note how in demand was this feature? I know it is a free app and I can go elsewhere. That is exactly what I will be doing.

ads

Introduced ads without notification, no thanks, the calculator will be uninstalled!

Uninstalling

Previous versions had no ads. Now ads move around the screen. Do you think youre Micro$oft? Id be willing to pay for an app, but changing something thats free without offering a pay version is just annoying.

More memory - but great app

Ive used this calculator daily for years. But the addition of adverts, particularly at top of page, has ruined the quality, so Im looking for a new calculator app.

Ads ...

The app WAS great and I have used it for years. The ads ruined it. I am uninstalling it now. The calculator app that comes with iPhone is good enough and free. If you tilt that one it has more scientific functions.

You CAN remove ads

I was about to dump the program due to the inclusion of iAds...then I found the option to purchase the non-ad version in the preferences. $0.99 seems a fair price for a good calculator (sans advertising).

Better than all the other calculators out there

Ive been using this calculator for programming at work for a long time now. Its definitely better than all the other ones out there. One thing I would suggest is adding a mod function to one of the modes, as that is a very helpful function for programmers (unless its there somewhere and I just cant find it?).

Ads obnoxious but

$.99 buys them away. (press the mode button) need to add a history tape. also need an edit screen for stats calc

Not good enough for ads

Sorry, was an ok app but with ads its history.

Moving Forward

I loved this app, I truly did. Until... I updated it. This app has been extremely useful and totally user-friendly, but the new interface... I dont know why it had to be changed. This app has helped me through physics, biomechanics, chemistry and other functions that entailed a calculator. I want to thank this app for everything, for being the best and absolutely free. But now I think I am sticking with the Calculator+ app. For those who like editing and dislike ads, this is the app for you. Bye and thank you again. I thought updating should move the app forward, make it better and not regress.

Ads without warning

This isnt the first app Ive had that tried to blackmail users into paying money to get rid of advertisements and it will suffer the same ignomious fate of being deleted. I understand the developer is trying to make money and I have no issue with that. But the honest way wouldve been to release it as a new app rather than an "update". To retain the forced advertising of the new pay app an "update" that consisted of a new app advertising alert on first launch wouldve been sufficient. Time to look for another app. Im willing to pay, but it wont be to this unethical developer.

Dont upgrade - added ads behind our backs

This was by far the best calculator out there until I upgraded. The color scheme is nice, but suddenly there was an ad banner at the top of the screen. There was NO MENTION OF ADS in the notes or upgrade information. I uninstalled it immediately, as this very poor business practice.

Deleting App

Ive had this app since it came out, and it was a wonderful app. But now that it has ads, Im deleting it. I would rather pay for an app than have ads on it. I think it was particularly deceptive to add ads after years of no ads.
